Expedition Winter Camp

Learn what it takes to be a mountaineer and explore the winter ecosystems of Colorado! Join the Colorado Mountain Club Youth Education Program for one day or a whole week of adventure! We will be rock climbing indoors & outdoors, ice skating, sledding, snow shoeing, and more! Each day will have a different theme and itinerary. Sign up for one day or multiple days. No previous experience required.

  • THURSDAY- January 2, 2025 (9AM-4PM)
    • Snow Shoeing

  • AGE: 1st-3rd Grade

  • DESCRIPTION: Strap on your snow shoes to explore winter landscapes and hike beautiful snow covered trails in the Front Range. Learn proper snow shoe technique and access winter trails where hiking boots alone just wont cut it! Our experienced staff will facilitate games and activities along the way that will guarantee your camper a fun filled snowy adventure. 

  • COST: Family Members - $120/day, Non-Members - $130/day

If you are unable to bring any of the items below, please let us know. CMC does have a few extra items that we are happy to loan out for the camp.

  • Clothes (comfortable clothing for climbing, hiking):
    • Loose fitting pants
    • T-shirt and a long sleeve shirt
    • Closed-toe, sturdy shoes (waterproof boots preferred)
    • Sweater and/or warm layer  
    • Warm jacket  
    • Brimmed hat
    • Sunglasses  
    • Warm hat and gloves
    • Snow top layer
    • Snow bottom layer
    • Extra pair of socks
  • Sunscreen and lip balm
  • Water bottle 
  • Backpack large enough to carry all personal essentials for a day hike
  • Personal medications (inhaler, EPI pen, etc.) – please have all containers and bottles labeled and also listed on the medical forms
  • Camera (optional)
