Afterschool Program

This program is tailored for youth ages 6-12. In this course, youth will explore a different Hands on Nature Science/Ecology Lesson every Monday for 7 weeks. Youth will experience this all in a small, supportive environment facilitated by highly skilled instructors and we provide gear, educational materials, and a snack.

• Age: For youth 6-12 years old.

• Dates: January 27th to March 31st, Mondays 3:35PM-4:35PM
  • 1/27/25 (Week 1): Colorado Mammals
  • 2/3/25 (Week 2): Clouds and Lighting
  • 2/10/25 (Week 3):  Mountain Weather
  • 2/17/25 - NO CLASS
  • 2/24/25 (Week 4): Avalanches and Snow Science
  • 3/3/25 (Week 5): Colorado Rocks! Local Geology
  • 3/10/25(Week 6): Water Sheds
  • 3/17/25- NO CLASS
  • 3/24/25- NO CLASS
  • 3/31/25 (Week 7): Colorado Birds

Location: This program takes place at Mitchell Elementary School Campus (201 Rubey Dr, Golden, CO 80403). Parent Pick up will be at 4:35pm from the front office. 

• Cost: $180 for non-members; $165 for members
  • Financial Assistance - Scholarships Available!
    • There is financial assistance available for this course. If you would like to apply for financial assistance please fill out our Financial Assistance Application.
• This program takes place Afterschool on campus at Mitchell Elementary School. Parents will pick up students from Mitchell Elementary each week at 4:35pm 
• Course fees include: Materials, building use, instruction, any gear provided, snacks, quality instruction.

Registration instructions: 

If you would like to register your student, and you are not a CMC member, you will need to make a FREE guest membership account here. Once this guest membership is made for the adult (with the adults email) you will add your youth to your account. Each participant will need to fill out a Youth Form. Only fill out the required items on the youth form. Health forms are required to submit this youth form but NOT to participate in afterschool programs. You can upload health forms if you have them or you can upload a blank placeholder document. Once this Youth Form is filled out, you can complete registration through this page.

Refund/Cancellation policy

Registration Minimum:

This course needs 7 registrants to run the program. If there are less than 7 registrants by January 24th, the course may be canceled and the registrants will receive a full refund.
