Roder Leadership Scholarship Application

This is a scholarship for CMC volunteers. The Roder Leadership Scholarship funds trainings such as Wilderness First Aid, Avalanche Training. Please complete this application to request funds for your continued training.

The Roder Leadership Scholarship is a statewide program to invest in our volunteer trip leaders, school instructors, and school directors. Our volunteers share their time, expertise, and passion with our members. The Roder Leadership Scholarship supports their efforts by providing scholarships for trainings that further their education and skill development.

The Roder Leadership Scholarship is available to CMC members who are volunteer trip leaders, school directors, school instructors, or those in training. You must also be able to fulfil the requirements of your scholarship by leading 6 trips/course days over the following 2 years.

To apply for a Leadership Scholarship, please submit an online application. CMC Staff review applications on a rolling basis. AIARE scholarships are reviewed on November 1. Scholarships are awarded based on the availability of funds and equitable distribution across CMC groups. Recipients of ATA, CPR, WFA, & WFR scholarships will receive a discount code to register through the CMC website. Please do not pay for a course anticipating a reimbursement. Approved applicants will be notified by email with more information.

For which training are you requesting a scholarship? To be eligible for advanced training, you must have led 5 trips in the last year with 3 being technical climbing for AMGA SPI or 3 being on avalanche terrain for AIARE 2.

What types of trips will you lead? Which field days will you instruct? If you are selected for a scholarship, the CMC is investing in your personal growth as a leader so you can give back to the organization. By receiving funds, you agree to lead 6 trips or school field days in the two years following your training.

Terms of Agreement As a scholarship recipient, I agree to lead a minimum of 6 CMC trips or school field days in the next 2 years. If I do not fulfill my leader/instructor commitment, I understand that I may be ineligible for future scholarship funding.
