El Pueblo
For El Pueblo's Community
The El Pueblo Group (EPG) of the Colorado Mountain Club is a local chapter providing outdoor experiences with a focus on trip offerings in Pueblo, Fremont, Custer, and Huerfano Counties in Southern Colorado. Formed in 1962, the EPG has a proud history of exploring the mountains, plains and canyons in the region.
The EPG is a small member-focused chapter serving over 30 members. All EPG trips are led by CMC trip leaders trained in Wilderness First Aid and safe travel in, or avoidance of, avalanche terrain. One or more season specific trips are offered each week including hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and backpacking outings. Trips are offered at various levels of difficulty including easy, moderate, or challenging as determined by the trip leader and noted in the trip description.
Two special benefits available only to EPG members include: a compendium of seasonal trips that is emailed to members up to four times a year; and a detailed description of an upcoming trip that is emailed to members during the week that a trip is scheduled. Both emails are sent by the Secretary of EPG.
