Students will learn and practice ice climbing techniques on an ice climbing wall.

We will meet at Camp Alexander (2182 Co Rd 96, Lake George, CO 80827) ready to go at 8am. Those interested in carpooling from Colorado Springs can meet at the Woodland Park Walmart at 7am.
Ice climbing movements and proper climbing techniques for swinging ice tools and kicking in crampons will be demonstrated. Students will practice techniques.

Required Equipment
Required Equipment: Climbing helmet, harness, two locking carabiners (one must be a large HMS style), belay device, waist prusik (3-4' long), double length runner or PAS, winter alpine-style boots, steel alpine or ice crampons, and ice tools (the club has some crampons and ice tools, so check with instructor on availability).
