Nordic Skiing – Monarch Pass

We had great weather, good snow, and beautiful views. The snow might have been better if had been a bit colder. We couldn't have asked for a better trip.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles

  • The trail is shared by both snowshoers and cross-country skiers.  Given this it was rough in places, not a smooth track for the skiers.  That said, several skiers took advantage of the unbroken snow going down the hills off the side of the track.  We had a beautiful, clear day.20240120_122232.jpg

The trip leader, Terry McCanne, makes this a special outing by breaking up the long drive, treating us to breakfast at a pancake house on the way up, and ending the day with a late lunch at a favorite brewery in Canon City on the way back.  20240120_132928.jpg
