This is an easy 4.5 mile trail with one steep, rocky section. The last three miles was flat and along a creek. There was unexpected ice along the path to Bruin’s bluff, but passable without spikes. As we get further into winter, it would be good to carry spikes, just in case.
It can be difficult to find this trailhead because Miller Road is not well marked, but clear directions were given and no one had difficulty. Parking at Little Park was ample. There are vault toilets at Little Park at the beginning of the hike, and at Lair O Bear where we stopped for lunch on the way back.
4.5 miles, 485 ft elevation change, which took about 3 hours with dogs and stopping for lunch.
