Trip Report

Hiking – Goshawk Ridge Loop with Fowler Trail extension.

Wonderful Hike in the foothills of Boulder County located just southeast of Eldorado Canyon State Park.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Well maintained trails throughout the hike.

We started at the Goshawk Ridge/Fowler TH located at the southern end of County Road 67 at 7:30am under beautiful azure Colorado Skies!  We proceeded south in a clockwise loop on the Goshawk Ridge trail.  The late season wildflowers and colorful fall foliage enhanced the hike throughout the day.  The geology was interesting and Ralph Shroba provided interpretation at several waypoints during the hike.  The rock formations were amazing and we observed many climbers in Eldorado Canyon State Park from our lunch stop on the Fowler Trail above the Bastille!  Total time hiking was 5 hrs.  A wonderful time was enjoyed by all participants.
