Tie Hack Loop
This is a pleasant hike or snowshoe through aspen groves and undulating terrain near Fairplay, Colorado. The loop is 7 miles with 1140 elevation gain. "Tie Hack" is the name used for workers who shaped logs with axes into ties for the railroad.
The trail ascends gradually through aspen groves and meanders around in a loop. The most spectacular views of Sheep Mountain can be seen from certain locations.
