Saint Kevin Lake
A beautiful alpine lake located in a cirque in the San Isabel National Forest, Holly Cross Wilderness.
The Timberline Lake trailhead is located at the west end of Turquoise Lake road just west of Leadville. From the trailhead you proceed 3.4 miles up the Continental Divide Trail to a well defined but unmarked trail just north of the Bear Lake Lake junction. Turning west onto the Saint Kevin trail you will proceed another 1.0 mile to the lake at 11,915 feet. From the trail you have views of the Arkansas Valley including Mount Massive as you make your way through pine forest passing a couple of small lakes along the trail. Once you reach the lake you will have views of a beautiful cirque. The lake is also accessible and shorter from Uncle Buds Hut if you are able to drive drive up the dirt road.
