Rosedale Peak

A 9.8 mile out and back with 2,905' elevation gain reaching the summit of Rosedale Peak (11,825') in the Mount Blue Sky (formerly Mount Evans) Wilderness Area.

Begin from the Meridian Trailhead elev. 9040 ft. and hike a steady grade along the established Meridian Trail USFS #604. Ascend through pine/aspen up the Elk Creek drainage reaching a saddle at mile 3.25/elevation 10,720. Continue along the Meridian Trail and bear left (NW) at the intersection with the Cub Creek Trail USFS #40. After another 1.5 miles passing through a forested area reach a second saddle at mile 4.75/elev. 11,410 ft. Head .5 miles gaining an additional 415 feet south/southwest off trail and above tree line to the summit of Rosedale peak elev. 11,825 ft. Views of Rosalie Peak, Mount Blue Sky (formerly Mount Evans), Mt Bierstadt and Mt Spaulding from the top.
