Redskin Mountain
Redskin Mountain, 8,783’. This mountain in the Buffalo Creek Recreation Area gives good views all around. It can be approached from a number of directions on any of the numerous trails located throughout the area.
This mountain (39.358657, -105.363693) can be reached via a number of trails but summiting it requires some off-trail bushwhacking. It is located about 4 miles SSW of Pine Valley Ranch and just to the SE of the High Meadows Burn Area (2000). On-trail access to the mountain can be had on the Strawberry Jack, Homestead, and Miller Gulch trails, about 5.5 miles from Pine Valley Ranch. If starting at the Miller Gulch or Buck Gulch TH's, or from the Colorado Trail, you may want to combine the hike with other nearby high points, such as unnamed Point 8650' to the SW of Redskin Mountain.
