Pikes Peak - Glen Cove
The Glen Cove area, on Pikes Peak, is a popular hiking, climbing, skiing and snowshoeing area, west of Colorado Springs. It is accessed via the Pikes Peak Highway and sits at an elevation of approximately 11,450 feet.
The Glen Cove area is located on the Pikes Peak Highway at mile marker 13. The Pikes Peak Highway is open year around, weather permitting and reservations are required from May 27th - September. Reservations can be made on-line at: www.drivepikespeak.com. There is parking at Glen Cove, on both sides of the highway, with no additional parking permit requirements. There is a visitor center/gift shop (Glen Cove Inn) with one restroom located inside the Glen Cove Inn. During the winter season, the Pikes Peak Highway is usually open to at least Glen Cove. The Glen Cove parking area provides walking access, along the shoulder of the highway, to the bowl area below Little Italy and the Devil's Playground portion of the Highway.
