Mosquito Peak, Kuss Peak, Treasurevault Mountain, and Mount Tweto

This will be a hard, high altitude hike, that is 9.5 miles and approximately 3,200 feet of elevation gain. We will spend a significant amount of time above 13,000 feet on the ridge. There will be no scrambling but there will be some steep hiking. There will be some old mining structures we will pass and good views from the ridge.

We will park on the road near mosquito creek and then hike up the road to the pass.  Once on mosquito pass we will first proceed to Kuss Peak where there is an old communications tower.  Kuss Peak stands at 13,548 feet.  From there we will proceed to Mosquito Peak which stands at 13,781 feet.  We will take a good break for snack and photos at this point.  Subsequently we will proceed to Treasurevault Mountain which stands at 13,701 feet and is an unofficial 14er.  From here we will proceed to Mount Tweto which stands at 13,762 feet.  We will take a break here after summiting our second official 13er and fourth total for the day.  We will back track to the saddle between Mount Tweto and Treasurevault Mountain from which we will proceed down a tundra slope to connect with an old mining road which we will take back to the parking area.  This will be a loop hike, at high altitude, on mostly tundra, boulders and talus.  It is class 2.  This will be an exploratory hike as the leader has not done this hike previously.
