Brainard Lake Rec Area - Mitchell Lake Trailhead

Brainard Lake Road is gated closed from mid-October to mid-June. During the summer months, a separate vehicle entry fee is required to drive through gate to the Mitchell Lake TH. Indian Peaks Wilderness Rules apply.  Day use only from May 1 through November 30.  Organized groups require a separate permit.  Maximum group size is 12.  Camping requires a permit between December 1 and April 30.
