Lake Ann

The moderate hike to Lake Ann (11,805') is 11 miles round trip with 1600' of elevation gain. This beautiful lake sits in the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness below the 3 Apostles, and also has good views of Huron Peak. You can expect lots of wildflowers in the summer.

This hike starts at the S Winfield (2WD) Trailhead and walks up the 4 WD road for 2 miles.  The  4 WD Trailhead (Clear Creek) is shared with the Huron Peak trail.  Take the Lake Ann Trail towards the south, then join the Continental Divide Trail to Lake Ann.  Lake Ann is about 3.5 miles after the 4 WD trailhead. An alpine lake cradled in a small cirque of 13,000 fit peaks.  The trail starts out gently, then becomes steeper as it nears the lake.
