Gunnison Gorge NCA
The 62,844-acre Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Area is located just north of Montrose. It's a diverse landscape ranging from adobe badlands to rugged pinyon and juniper-covered slopes with the Gunnison River flowing through it.
Refer to this BLM website for more info. The Gunnison Gorge Wilderness is also within the Gunnison Gorge NCA. There are numerous hiking trails in the NCA. Camping is also available. The NCA is managed by the BLM Uncompahgre Field Office. A day use fee of $3 per person is required for accessing the Gunnison Gorge Wilderness within the NCA.
