Deer Creek Canyon Park

Deer Creek Canyon Park (Jeffco Open Space) has 14.5 miles of trails. Several trails are multiuser while others are just for hikers and equestrians including Meadowlark, Homesteader, and Golden Eagle Trails.

Deer Creek Canyon Park has 14.5 miles of trails creating several loops for hikers, bikers and equestrians. Most trails include elevation gains of 1,000 to 2,200ft.

The Black Bear trail is a difficult, multiuse, connector trail that joins Deer Creek Canyon to Hildebrand Ranch (Note this trail is closed February 1-July 31 for raptor protection).

Plymouth Mountain: 6 mile partial loop hike with about 1,500 vertical feet of elevation gain.

This is a simple moderate hike suitable for hiking all year round. Traditional route goes up Meadowlark Trail, then up Plymouth Creek Trail to the Scenic View Trail to Plymouth Mountain, with a nice overlook. There are many options to extend the hike, including to Red Mesa Loop and taking Plymouth Mountain trail. Return via Plymouth Creek Trial. Hike distance is from about 5.5 miles to 13.  Parking is free, dogs are welcome on leashes.
