Cuchara Mountain Park

This park reopened in 2022, after 20+ years closed. Its powered-ski lifts have  some issues that remain unresolved in 2024. But a snow-cat/sled-tow operates in the downhill ski area during the ski season.

Trails weave through the area all around the park, giving access to a disc golf course, mini-golf, the San Isabel and San Carlos National Forests and old ski trails. A mountain biking area is in the plans.

Baker TH accesses the Baker Creek Trail USFS #1302, pleasant for hiking and snow travel, which can be used to access the nearby Indian Trail #1300, and Dodgeton Trail, which continues USFS #1302, for a longer hike.

Bear Lake, Blue Lake, and Cuchara Day Use Areas are nearby, as is the Blue Lake Campground.  A lodge with drinks and snacks may be open on weekends. A Mercantile Store is nearby.
