Conundrum Hot Springs

This iconic hot springs and camping area is located in the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness, and reached via the Conundrum Creek Trail. An overnight stay requires a permit.

The trail generally parallels and crisscrosses Conundrum Creek, weaving through woods and meadows to the popular Conundrum Hot Springs.

The best time to visit the Hot Springs is July through September. From early October to late June, the trailhead, trail, and campsites are snow-covered and subject to avalanches. Following the trail requires wading across Conundrum Creek in places, but crossing can be hazardous during spring runoffs.

Permit Information: A permit is required to camp at Conundrum Hot Springs. Bear canisters are required for food and scented products.
