Cline Ranch State Wildlife Area
Fly fish the headwaters of Tarryall Creek at the Cline Ranch (Colorado State Wildlife Area). Three miles of Tarryall Creek, near Como, Colorado. 1,650 acres of the Cline Ranch.
This is small creek fishing: 3 or 4 weight, 7-8 foot fly rods are ideal. The Cline Ranch has parking spots for 4 cars, each is assigned to one "beat" or section of the creek. Fishing and casting is challenging due to willows which grow all along the creek, this is a trip for fly fishers of intermediate or higher skills. Walking and wading can also be challenging, the "trails" along the creek are mostly game trails. While the target will be Tarryall Creek, there are beaver ponds that can be fished. Brook and brown trout are in the waters here, with the occasional rainbow.
