Climate Education Hike

Join me, an environmental scientist, long-distance hiker, and climate advocate ,for an environmental education talk at the Golden Library. Karl has completed the Triple Crown of hiking (AT, PCT, CDT) and the Colorado Trail twice. On his second CT hike, I noticed a lot more forest mortality and the previous hike 17 years ago. This prompted me to write a book, Colorado Trail in Climate Crisis: A Naturalist’s Field Report on Climate Change on Mountain Ecosystems. I will present a slide show featuring the journey as well as the latest research by scholars for Colorado and the Southern Rockies.

After the presentation, I will lead a hike at the Nightbird Gulch Trailhead at 625 Canyon Point Circle (Golden). You need to register separately as this is a trip. Only 14 hikers are permitted so the first 14 to sign up will join us on the hike.
