Carrizo and Picture Canyon

Two canyons in SE Colorado. Three days hiking, two nights camping. Six miles, 1000 ft elevation.

We're visiting 2 interesting canyons in SE Colorado. Day one, we'll drive via Lamar, Springfield, Campo to Carrizo Canyon. Car camp. Check out the short hike along the creek and look for petroglyphs. Day two, we'll drive to Picture Canyon and hike a 6 mile loop through canyons and plateau. Day three, drive home.

Optional for day three: Bents Old Fort, Sandcreek Massacre or the Japanese internment camp Amachi.
