Bull Hill
Elevation: 13,761 feet. Total Gain: 3,800 feet. RT Length: 7.25 miles. Class 2. There are great views of Casco Peak during much of the climb.
Trailhead: Echo Canyon. From U.S. 24 south of Leadville, take Colorado 82 (Independence Pass) toward Twin Lakes. Drive about 12.5 miles and turn right onto a easily missed dirt road drive 100 yards to the unmarked "trailhead." Parking available here for two vehicles. 4WD vehicles can continue 150 yards where more parking is available (easy 4WD). Having crossed the stream at approx. 0.3miles continue N/NE on the trail as it parallels the creek. Near 10,600' the trail is defined as it follows an old 4WD road. At 11,640', pass a mine shack. The road ends just above the Golden Fleece Mine near 12,700'. Bull Hill's south ridge lies ahead.
