3-Day: Turquoise Lakes from Beaver Creek Resort
Three day trip into Holy Cross Wilderness to Lower and Upper Turquoise Lakes with opportunity to hike to two additional lakes on Day 2 or fish. Lower lake is 12.2 miles and 2,900 feet elevation gain and upper lake is slightly farther and higher.
Suggested Backpacking Section (BPX) itinerary for 3-day trip to be used for CMC trips led by BPX leaders for BPX members.
Day 1 - Hike from Beaver Creek Resort area through portions of Resort to Beaver Lk on Beaver Lk Trail (#2109) and into Holy Cross Wilderness area. Hike past Beaver Lk continuing to the first of two Turquoise Lakes. Make camp where group will stay Night 1 and Night 2. (6.1 miles, +2900 ft)
Day 2 - Choice to fish, hike to Upper Turquoise Lk, Olsen Lk, chill in camp
Day 3 - Break camp, hike out (6.1 miles, -2900 ft)
Driving Directions: I-70W to Avon Exit 167; head south from roundabout onto Avon Rd, continue south under interstate, past US Hwy 6 and past the gate to Beaver Creek; Avon Rd name changes to Village Rd. Follow Village Rd to parking structure.
Note: This trip requires leaving cars and taking a shuttle through Beaver Crk Resort area to the TH
