BPX 3-Day: Pikes Peak via Barr TH and Barr Camp
Lighten the load by staying at Barr Camp on the way up and the way down Pikes Peak. Total trip is 21 miles and 7,600 vertical but you only need to carry overnight kit 4.8 miles and 3,600 feet up and back.
Suggested Backpacking Section (BPX) itinerary for 3-day trip to be used for CMC trips led by BPX leaders for BPX members:
Day 1: Drive to trailhead. Hike from Barr Trailhead to Barr Camp 4.75 miles and 3,585 feet
Day 2: Barr Camp to Pikes Peak summit 10.5 miles and 3,839 feet
Day 3: Barr Camp back to trailhead 4.75 miles 74 feet ascent and 3,585 descent
