On the western side of Rocky Mountain National Park, this moderate 3-day hike ascends the East Inlet trail, which leads to a series of 5 alpine lakes. There are 8 designated camps along this trail; advance permits are required.
Suggested Backpacking Section (BPX) itinerary for 3-day trip to be used for CMC trips led by BPX leaders for BPX members:
Day 1: From East Inlet trailhead, backpack to campsite. Distance to sites varies.
Day 2: Dayhike to Fifth lake and return to camp.
Day 3: Hike back out to East Inlet trailhead, with possible side trip to Paradise Meadow (2 miles RT, 290 ft. ascent / descent)
