3-Day: Colorado Trail - Segment 6 from the Kenosha Pass West TH
The Colorado Trail - Segment 6 trip is a beautiful 31.6 mile hike (one way) with an elevation gain of about 5,382 ft. It starts at the Kenosha Pass West TH, has beautiful views of South Park, travels over the continental divide at Georgia Pass, and ends in Breckenridge at the Gold Hill TH.
Suggested Backpacking Section (BPX) itinerary for 3-day trip to be used for CMC trips led by BPX leaders for BPX members
Day 1: Start at the Kenosha Pass West TH and follow Segment 6 of the Colorado Trail (#1776) past the West Jefferson Trail to a small stream crossing (9.25 miles, 2,171 ft.) where we'll setup camp for the first night.
Day 2: Starting at the small stream follow Segment 6 of the Colorado Trail (#1776) over the continental divide at Georgia Pass, and 0.2 miles past the road after crossing the North Fork Swan River (9.6 miles, 1,172 ft.) where we'll setup camp for the second night.
Day 3: Starting at the second night's campsite follow Segment 6 of the Colorado Trail to the Gold Hill TH in Breckenridge (12.8 miles, 2,046 ft.) .
