2-Day: Sky Pond from Bear Lake TH
Sky Pond is located 3.8 miles / 1,360 ft. from Bear Lake Trailhead in Rocky Mountain National Park. The lake sits above Lake of Glass in a deep valley capped by Taylor Glacier, Taylor Peak (13,153'), Powell Peak (13,208') and The Sharkstooth (12,630').

Suggested Backpacking Section (BPX) itinerary for 2-day trip to be used for CMC trips led by BPX leaders for BPX members:
Day 1: Drive to RMNP, park and ride shuttle bus to Bear Lake trailhead. Hike to Andrews Creek campsite and set up camp (3.8 miles / +1,360 ft.). Hike to Sky Pond (1.7 miles +600ft one way) and/or Andrews Glacier (.75 miles, +850 ft. one way) with a lighter pack.

Day 2: Hike out and drive home.
Notes:
- All reservations for summer season RMNP backpacking wilderness camping trips must be booked via www.recreation.gov. Reservations for all summer backpacking camping permits will open on March 1 at 8:00 a.m. MT
- Number of Sites at Andrews Creek Campsite: 1 (Maximum of 2-four person tents)
- RMNP requires Bear canisters.
- RMNP requires wag bags for this trip.
- As of 11/26/2020, the trail is closed due to recent fire, but may re-open. Check https://www.nps.gov/romo/learn/fire-information-and-regulations.htm
