Boreas Pass TH

Boreas Pass is an 11,493' high mountain pass on the Continental Divide along the border between Park and Summit counties. Boreas Pass Road connects Breckenridge and Como and the dirt road is closed to cars each winter, becoming a popular recreational trail.

Boreas Pass was originally called Breckenridge Pass in the 1860s as a wagon and later railroad route to reach the gold mines. A large stand of Bristlecone Pines was cut down to make RR ties and the trunks still stand today.  There are restrooms and historic buildings, including cabins for rent at the TH.
