Beaver Meadows Loop
This loop is a gateway to other important trails in the Mt Blue Sky (Evans) Wilderness and beyond. On its own it is a pleasant hike through broad meadows and mixed forests. The trail crosses several year-round streams and passes by the historic Mt Evans Resthouse ruins. This access to the SWA is open only June 15 - December 31. Bear Creek Road car access from Evergreen closes Labor Day.
This trail starts in the Mt Blue Sky State Wildlife Area so all participants must have in their possession on trip day a valid hunting license, fishing license, or SWA Pass. Delivery may be by snail-mail so order it now if you don't already have one. In 2024 Prices are $11.47 for an Annual Youth/Senior Pass; $41.83 for a regular Annual Pass; $11.00 for a non-senior Day Pass. The loop follows the Beaver Meadows Trail (#44), the Cub Creek Trail (#40) and Beartracks Lakes Trail (#43), ending at the Camp Rock TH (also in the SWA), requiring a short walk to the left/north back to the Beaver Meadows TH parking area.
During the course of the loop, the trail intersects trails to Lincoln Lake, Summit Flats, Beartracks Lakes, and Cub Creek. Trail junctions can be confusing, especially where the arrows point, so use your map/GPS.
The driver needs to fill out a free parking pass at the TH.
There are two vault restroom structures at the TH.
