Beartrack Lakes

This is a moderate, 11 mile hike with 2,593 total elevation gain. Located in the Mount Blue Sky (formerly Mount Evans) Wilderness area, it passes through the Beartracks burn area, more intact forests and Beartrack Lake itself.

Starting from near the Camp Rock Campground it crosses Bear Creek and then into the Mount Blue Sky (formerly Mount Evans) Wilderness Area.  A portion of the trail goes through the Beartracks burn area that is recovering naturally. The trail goes past this portion to Beartrack Lake at 5.4 miles.

HUNTING SEASON CLOSURE: Public access is prohibited from January 1 through June 14. Use of the property is restricted to only fishing and hunting activities from the day after Labor Day through mid November.​ For more information, please see https://cpw.state.co.us/swa/Mount%20Evans%20SWA .

State Wildlife Area Pass:  Access to Camp Rock TH in the Mount Evans State Wildlife Area is closed to vehicular traffic Labor Day through June 15.  A state hunting or fishing license, or a state wildlife area pass (SWA Pass) is required for each hiker to access the SWA.
