Baldy Bowl
Bald Mountain is home to numerous backcountry ski lines with the most popular being Baldy Bowl. Baldy Bowl is accessed from the trailhead on Mount Baldy Road. It is about 3.25 miles and 1680 feet to skin to the top of the bowl from the trailhead.
The winter trail head starts at the gate on Baldy Road. There is a small parking lot for about a 6 cars. The route is very popular with the local backcountry ski crowd and there is generally an established skin track. The most common skin track into the bowl generally follows the summer dirt road with some variation especially near and above tree line. It is about 3.25 miles and 1680 feet to skin to the top of the bowl from the trail head if you follow the road. The high point is approximately 12,300 feet.
