Animas Mountain Trail
Easily accessible within Durango, this trail is part of a popular area for hiking, mountain biking, bouldering, and rock climbing.
This is an easy loop hike that ties directly into other trails all over the mountain, so one can extend the route described here for a more challenging trip. The mountain is owned by BLM and managed by the City of Durango.
The main TH (37.30466590188752, -107.87552262176155) provides access to the entire mountain rec area. There is a secondary access in town on West 2nd Ave just west of West 33rd St. (37.302501, -107.870867)
