Rock Climb – Turkey Rock

We will be traveling in the Pikes Peak region to do a day of Crack! at the Turkey Perch located at Turkey Rocks North of Woodland Park.

If you have never climbed crack, that is ok, as we will be on 'easier' sections.  If you don't have crack climbing glovies then bring some climbing tape.

We will leave from Colorado Springs from my office at 415 W Rockrimmon Blvd in Colorado Springs at 1pm.  As always feel free to meet us at the crag as your schedule allows.  Note:  The drive in can be challenging.  A standard SUV or Subaru type vehicle is adequate.

We will climb until dusk and then hike out.

Bring snacks and water along with your climbing gear.  It is south facing so should be warm with full sun.

This is not a class and all participants should have the knowledge, either through a CMC class or personal experience, to safely complete these activities.

Thursday night climbing is moving to Fridays this year to allow for more flexibility in the types and length of climbs. Initially, we will have the first 3-4 climbs in Colorado Springs area. We will move to more regional venues like Turkey Rock, Shelf Road, and other climbs. Lastly, we will be doing full day multi pitch to destination climbing areas. We will do fairly easy multi pitch climbs in the 5.6-5.9 range and likely hit the classics. Those who have participated throughout the year will be given priority for multi pitch climbs.
