Rock Climb – Clear Creek Canyon

Trip

Rock Climb – Clear Creek Canyon

Single pitch sport climbing at Catslab or Cats vs Dogs Wall. We will go to Cats vs Dogs Wall if Catslab is too crowded. Both of these crags are next to each other and give us access to climbs ranging from 5.4-5.11d, there will be something for everyone depending on your skill level. Those with experience leading may do so after a skills check, top ropes will also be set by the leader. 70m rope required for majority of routes at Catslab.

I will be sending participants a pre-trip email asking about their experience, skill levels, and expectations for the trip.

You must be knowledgeable in knot tying, anchor cleaning, belaying, and lead belaying.

Lead climbing is not required, but you can if you have the experience after a skills check. Feel free to come and top rope only. I am more than happy to lead to set a top rope.

We will need 70m ropes for most routes at Catslab. We can get away with a 60m for some at Catslab and all the routes at Cats vs Dogs Wall.

I have a 60m and 70m rope. It would be great if we had a couple more 70m ropes.

Meet in lot on south side of tunnel 5 in CCC at 3pm. We will climb until around 730pm, make sure to bring a headlamp in case it is dark when we are hiking back to the lot.

With the construction in the canyon, if coming from the front range, I would recommend taking I70 on the way there and then take the canyon home.
