RMOTHG Trip – Roxborough State Park

We're hiking Rox for a short and pleasant Christmas Day/Hannukah (Both on same day this year!!) outing/celebration/interlude! Rox is close and a lovely red rock place to go for a Holiday Nature Celebration. Come be frivolous and free for a couple of hours as we follow a SLOW, relaxed, casual place for approx 3 mi! No Xmas wrapping, cooking, or frantic anything during our time at Rox -- just fresh air and a beautiful, natural place -- our little respite from holiday excess (or you get company if you're alone this day)! May not have time to scout so bring spikes and look for a Tuesday night (Xmas Eve) message from me with latest weather and ranger info!

  • Easy to Moderate

  • Mileage: 3.2 mi
  • Pace: SLOW, easy, relaxed

10 a.m. in Safeway parking lot at corner of Waterton Canyon and Rampart Road. Look for brown Subaru Outback, ALL-918 (plates). You need park sticker or allowance for Rox so we'll pile into my car or anyone's who has the sticker/allowance!

Roxborough: 8355 N Rampart Range Rd.

Again, may not have time to scout so will rely on ranger reports of snow conditions but BRING SPIKES, just in case!  Please look for early Tuesday evening, Christmas Eve message from me about weather and conditions.
