RMOTHG Trip – Mount Sniktau

An excellent "Spring Training" climb to start building stamina at high altitude: 1700 feet of climbing in 2 miles at an elevation of 11,500 ft - 13,216 ft. Spectacular 360 degree views!

Microspikes may be required.  Leader will inform everyone of weather and trails conditions the day before the hike.

Despite the short distance this peak climb will be entirely above treeline & Sniktau is notorious for high winds. Be prepared with plenty of layers.

Please assess your aerobic / physical conditioning for a hike that gains 1700 ft of elevation in 2 miles - at high altitude.

Meeting Time:   7:30 am.
Meeting Place for Carpool:   Wooly Mammoth Park n Ride Section BB (across from Exxon Station). I70 exit 259.

On the way, we will make a comfort stop at the Georgetown Visitor Center at I-70 exit 228.

This is a high peak climb to be taken seriously any time of year. Come prepared for any and all conditions - regardless of the weather report.
