Octo Hike – Rocky Mountain Arsenal
This is a hike as part of the Octogenarian Hike Series. Octo hikes have shorter mileage, lower elevation gain and more frequent stops. On this hike we will travel approximately 5-6 miles on relatively flat trails then spend time in the Visitor Center where you learn of the history of the Arsenal once know as Rocky Mountain Flats. This National Wildlife Refuge has 15'000 acres of prairie grass and is home to more than 330 species of wildlife, including bald eagles, bison, black-footed ferrets, deer, coyotes, borrowing owls and prairie dogs.
