Octo Hike – Maryland Mountain Quartz Valley Open Space Park

This is an Octogenarian (Octo) Hike for those who have aged out of normal CMC hikes, or anyone who finds CMC's traditional Easy hikes more than they want or can do. Octo Hikes are slower paced, have shorter distances, less elevation gain, and more frequent stops than typical Easy A hikes. This trail system weaves around and through Maryland Mountain, Chase Gulch, Quartz Valley, and the historic narrow gauge Gilpin Tramway, to enjoy panoramic views of Black Hawk, Central City, and the northern rural regions of Gilpin County.
