Nordic Skiing – Peaks Trail: Frisco - Breckenridge

We will meet at the Miners Creek Trailhead in Frisco mid-morning to park cars. From there, we will take the Summit Stage free bus service to the Breckenridge Gondola Lot, riding the free gondola to Peak 7, using the bathrooms at the base of Peak 7 and then walking a few hundred yards to the Peaks Trail trailhead and skiing back to Frisco.  

For those interested in carpooling from Denver meet at Wooly Mammoth Lot BB at (time TBD).

WE WILL NAIL DOWN DEPARTURE TIMES ONCE I HAVE THE WINTER SCHEDULE FOR THE SUMMIT STAGE BUS SERVICE.

This is a beautiful area that the leader has skied several times. We will ski through rolling, wooded terrain with a few faster descents, traveling 8.1 miles back to our cars in Frisco. Skins are not necessary. This trip is not appropriate for beginners, or skiers that desire to travel slowly. The middle section of the trip passes through a few miles of open terrain that is typically windblown, requiring route-finding. 

We will have radios for front leader and rear leader to help keep the group together. 

If weather is particularly cold we will limit breaks, including snack breaks, to 5 minutes for everyone's comfort. 

We will avoid avalanche terrain.

Participants' email addresses and mobile phone numbers may be shared with other participants, and trip images may be  shared on Facebook or other media. If you have known medical conditions that may manifest themselves during this activity, please notify the leader before the trip. Do not come if you are sick. If applicable, bring money for ride sharing. No dogs. 10 essentials and clothing appropriate for the weather, trail lunch/snacks.
