Nordic Skiing – B&B Mine Trailhead

Ready to ski at 10:00 AM from the B&B Mine Trailhead parking lot. Last year there were NO toilets at this parking lot. 

If you are interested in carpooling from Denver area please confirm that in advance, and plan to meet at Wooly Mammoth Lot BB at 8:00 AM for a prompt 8:15 AM departure (this will leave time for a 10-15 minute bathroom break before arrival at the trailhead). 

This is a beautiful area that the leader has skied several times. We will begin with a ski through rolling, wooded terrain with a few faster descents on single track trail that includes some tight turns, and then climb about 1 mile up the Sally Barber Mine road. We will take a break at the mine ruins for pictures and then complete a 3 mile loop before returning back to the cars. Skins are not necessary.

This is a little bit more difficult trip because of the elevation gain (1,045') and the single track sections that include tight turns. This trip is not appropriate for beginners, or skiers that desire to travel slowly.

We will have radios for front leader and rear leader to help keep the group together. 

If weather is particularly cold we will limit each break, including snack breaks, to 5 minutes for everyone's comfort. 

We will avoid avalanche terrain.

Participants' email addresses and mobile phone numbers may be shared with other participants, and trip images may be  shared on Facebook or other media. If you have known medical conditions that may manifest themselves during this activity, please notify the leader before the trip. Do not come if you are sick. If applicable, bring money for ride sharing. No dogs. 10 essentials and clothing appropriate for the weather, trail lunch/snacks.
