Leader in Training (LIT) Hike – Genesee Park - Genesee Mountain Trail Outer Loop

LIT Hike for Marty Hudson. Nice hike on varied terrain. Good views of surrounding hills and of bison herd, with seeing bison babies possible. Early start to avoid heat.

Meet at Wooly Mammoth PnR Section BB to organize carpools for prompt drive-away by 8 AM. 

TRAILHEAD INFO: CDOT rest area south side of Genesee exit off of I-70

DIRECTIONS TO TRAILHEAD:  Drive up US-40/I-70 to Genesse exit #254  Cross over pass and take first left Note one way entrance is second left.

The drive is 11 miles roundtrip.  Every passenger should pay their driver $1 for carpool sharing cost.

Hike Genesee Mountain Trail outer loop counterclockwise. Stop at Rest rooms at (0.4 miles). Halfway round take Summit trail to summit for heavy snack break and return to Genesee Mountain trail and finish loop.

Bring 10 essentials, sun protection, rain gear, snack(s), and at least one liter of water.
