Intermediate Snowshoe – Roaring Creek Trail
The trail is an out and back trail that begins off CO14 and climbs up along Roaring Creek for 5 miles. It is 10 miles total, and has a 2,141 ft elevation gain. Snowshoes will likely be needed after 1.5 miles as the trail can hold a lot of snow during normal winters.

After the initial switchbacks up, the trail used to pass through standing forests, but was affected greatly by the Cameron Peaks fire. It was cleared and reopened in June 2023. I will be scouting it in early January with the co-leader to be able to update you on the trail conditions, and how they might have affected the snow depth, as the trail previously would hold a lot of snow in the winter. As the trail follows the creek, there are beautiful ice formations along the trail!
