Intermediate Snowshoe – Leland Creek, Fool Creek, King Creek Loop

Carpool Place & Time: Meet at Wooly Mammoth PnR (Section BB) 7:30AM for a 7:45AM departure (Wooly Mammoth Park-N-Ride - Google Maps)   

We'll then carpool to the Leland Creek Trailhead parking (Leland Creek Trailhead - Google Maps)

This loop snowshoe hike starts at the Leland Creek trailhead and heads east along the Leland Creek trail for about a 1/2 mile to meet the Fool Creek trail where we'll make our way south to the intersection with the King Creek trail at ~1.5 miles. We have the pleasure of following the King Creek trail for about 2 miles where we'll then meet the "surprise" along our route. After the "surprise" we'll be on the Byers Peak trail which will take us back to the trailhead. This route is mostly in the trees and avoids the high avalanche danger areas. We'll find a sunny spot to stop for lunch/snack. Our pace will be comfortable for all participants. Overall ~7 miles and ~850 ft elevation gain. (Experimental Forest - East Loop - CalTopo)
