For our trip, the total distance and elevation gain are approximately 6.5 miles and 700 feet, respectively.  The route starts out going north on the Sourdough Trail (#835), then west on South St Vrain (#909) and then south on the Brainard Lake Cutoff Trail (#909.1).  Weather permitting, and taking into account the possibility of windy conditions at the Lake, plan on having lunch near Brainard Lake.  We then return to or cars on the Snowshoe Trail (#814.3).  Please reference the GAIA map at this link: https://www.gaiagps.com/map/?loc=13.7/-105.5569/40.0826&pubLink=jclmKQfesrAZLw3ZA0pwtrvM&trackId=d0fc6098-3f9d-442c-9aa3-f918a65012e2
