Meet in the Safeway parking lot at 3325 28th Street in Boulder at 6:30am so we can form carpools and leave no later than 6:40am. Specifically, park in the north end of the Safeway parking lot, near the Phillips 66 gas station. Here’s a Google Maps link to the Safeway: https://maps.app.goo.gl/mpG84vtWp2eCEGxU8
An alternate meeting location for those living further north is to meet at Sandstone Park in Lyons, parking on the Railroad Avenue side (south side) of the park, at 7:00am. Here’s a Google Maps link to the Lyons meeting place: https://maps.app.goo.gl/s5CfGVLuKXDVLWCa7
The Twin Sisters Peak trailhead is on the Peak-to-Peak Hwy south of Estes Park, directly across CO-7 from the Lily Lake Trailhead. Here’s a Google Maps Link to it: https://maps.app.goo.gl/WrKrzMDBo8TtVFWj6
This is an out and back hike, mostly on a well-established trail. There is a trail to the west summit. The out and back from the east summit to the south summit will be off-trail. There is some Class 2+ scrambling to get to the east summit, which is the highest summit on Twin Sisters Peak, as well as on the off-trail section over to the south summit.
At minimum we will bring our microspikes. Depending on trail conditions we may need to use our snowshoes for a part of this trip.
