Hiking – Sunlight Ski Area

This walk provides one of the best places in the Thompson Divide to experience the fall colors. From the ski area parking lot, we'll walk up the service road along the Ute ski run on the west side of the area. Road leaves the ski area and connects with the winter ski trails in Babish Gulch. We'll then follow the trail to it's return to the top of the Ute trail and then to the top of the ski hill. After a break for lunch and photos, we'll follow the service road around the east perimeter of the ski area back to the parking lot. Spectacular fall colors with nice views of the Crystal and Roaring Fork valleys, as well as Mount Sopris and the Elk Mountains. Trip date may change depending on when the leaves start changing color.
