Hiking – Staunton State Park - Lion's Head Overlook

RMOTHG MEMBERS ONLY - Lion's Head is the "centerpiece" rock outcropping of Staunton State Park and we will be hiking to the top of it!!! Views from the top are expansive, including Pike's Peak to the south and really pretty views of Black Mountain and Staunton SP to the north. On the way up, we'll stop and take time to enjoy Elk Falls Overlook (which is rather pretty) and we will also see Mount Blue Sky just before we reach the top. We'll start our hike from the Lazy V TH. The trail is quite steep and rocky in many sections. There is a very pretty little aspen grove on Lion's Back Trail that we hike through, let's all cross our fingers that they're still golden!!! I have given this hike a moderate/challenging rating because of the length and steep/rocky sections.
