Bear Paw loop in Staunton State Park is about 8.1-mile loop trail near Conifer, Colorado. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 4hours to complete.
The hike encompassing Mason Creek, Bear Paw, Old Mill, and Staunton Ranch Trails offers a scenic experience, providing ample shade throughout the journey. The terrain consists of a wide and well-defined dirt trail. Hiking boots and microspikes are recommended for the icy sections during winter.

Dogs must be well-behaved, non-reactive and should be able to walk at a moderate to fast pace for 4-5 hours.

We will practice Leave No Trace (LNT) with NO exceptions. If you don’t want to carry your dog’s poop with you, this is not the hike for you. Dogs must be leash at all times.
